AOB Flashcards
When will you enter AOA limiter mode?
AOA 13.1 @ flaps 3
AOA 13.4 @ flaps full
How do you know if the AOA limiter mode is active?
Pitch limit indicator (PLI) will appear as a “mustache “
Can AOA limiter mode activate before an actual stall condition?
Yes.
Once AOA limiter mode is engaged, how is side stick input affected?
Stick input is limited and control of aircraft is altered until limiter disengages.
What 3 criteria must be met to disengage the AOA limiter?
- AOA must be reduced below activation threshold (13.1 or 13.4).
- Airspeed needs to be above low speed criteria.
- Side stick and flight controls need to “agree”, which may require NEUTRAL STICK.
What is our minimum corrected VREF?
+10 kts
All landing distances are increased by at least…?
20%
Auto throttles must be disengaged by…?
500ft stabilized
What airspeed is approved at 500ft stabilized?
Corrected VREF +5kts
What action is required if the PLI indicates AOA limiter mode after the 500ft stabilized call?
Go around
What flap setting is recommended for gusty approaches?
Flaps full
When do we slow down below corrected VREF?
The flare.
How do we calculate corrected VREF?
Half the steady state wind + gust factor to VREF (20kts max)
What is the minimum VREF correction?
+10kts
What are the three possible VREF corrections?
10, 15, 20kts (round up)
