Panic Disorder
A
- repeated uncued panic attacks
- worry about having additional attacks
- variety of situations
- duration: 1+ months
- hard to differentiate from agoraphobia and social anxiety disorder
- panic attacks can be symptoms of other disorders

Agoraphobia
A
- inordinate anxiety or dread when they have to be alone or away from home
- so fearful they escape and avoid such situations (usually place - public transportation, open spaces, enclosed spaces, etc.)
- fear that escape might be difficult or help might not be available
- the situation almost always provoke fear or anxiety
- duration: at least 6 months

Specific Phobia
A
- fear, out of proportion, of specific object or situation
- anxiety produced by exposure to these things can take form of panic attack or anxiety but is it SPECIFIC
- patients usually have more than one specific phobia, average is 3
- worry about what they MIGHT do (ex. faint) when facing fearful object
- duration: at least 6 months

Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD)
A
- imagine themselves embarrassed when they speak or in public

Selective Mutism
A
- elects not to talk, except when alone or select intimates

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
A
- no panic attacks, but uncontrollable anxiety and worry about various issues

Separation Anxiety Disorder (SepAD)
A
- anxious when separated from a parent or other attachment figure
- thoughts and fear of what could happen to them

Anxiety Disorder due to Another Medical Condition
A
- panic attacks and generalized anxiety symptoms can be caused by numerous medical conditions

A
- use of a substance or medication has caused panic attacks or other anxiety symptoms
