Q

Mechanism of action for antiviral drugs for herpes

A

-Antiviral drugs bind with Timindine kinase of herpes and phosphotransferase of CMV to form mono phosphate of antiviral drugs ,then enzymes of host cells bind also to form Diphosphate, triphosphate which leads to competition between antiviral drugs and triphosphate and guanine triphosphate leading to appearance of DNA fragments leading to inhibition of viral replication and inhibition of viral DNA polymerase
