Fluoxetine
SSRI: first line
Paroxetine
SSRI: most likely to cause withdrawal symptoms along with Venlafaxine.
Escitralopram
SSRI
Bupropion
NDRI (stop smoking): lower SE of weight loss and sexual things than other anti-depressants, but may cause anxiety.
Venlafaxine
SNRI: more effective (side effect is HTN b/c it will increase NE, which binds Alpha-1).
Trazodone
Mixed: SSRI, 5HT antagonist
Amtriptyline
TCAD (NET/SERT reuptake)
Phenelzine
MAOI: SE is orthostatic hypotension, BUT if taken with tyramine foods (beer, cheese, wine).
Lithium carbonate
Anti-Manic and Anti-depressant: use-dependent block of PIP recycling. Side effects: attacks TSH and ADH. Competes with Na for reabsorption in Kidney (low salt diet will mean higher drug levels).
