Antibodies Flashcards
WHat are the effector molecules of humoral immunity?
Antibodies
What does CD3 do?
mediates signal transduction functions from TCRs (T cell receptors) upon binding antigen from the MHC of an APC
Fab Region
The portion of an antibody that contains a whole light chain, attached to the V and C domains of the heavy chain; this is the portion responsible for antigen recognition and antigen binding. (Fab = fragment, antigen binding)
IgA
Secreted form?
Funciton
Secreted ass a dimer
fx = mucosal immunity
IgD
