What are the contraindications to tetracyclines?
Hypersensitivity
Pregnancy/lactation

Renal impairment (minocycline)

What are the adverse effects of tetracyclines?
GI effects, benign intracranial hypertension, photosensitivity, candidiasis, anaphylaxis
Minocycline specific
Dyspigmentation, vertigo, SJS/TEN, DRESS, lupus, vasculitis
Hepatitis, immune thrombocytopenia
What baseline and ongoing monitoring is required for tetracyclines?
Baseline and every 4-6 months
FBC, UEC, LFT, ANA
