Amoxicillin
A
- May decrease effectiveness of BC
- Regular - with or without food / ER - 1hr after meal
- Diarrhea, nausea, vomit, rash

Doxycycline (-cyclines)
A
- can cause Sun Sensitivity
- take w/ adequate fluids
- diarrhea, N/V
- may decrease effectiveness of BC
- Best on empty stomach
- Avoid taking with antacids or dairy products

Ciprofloxacin
A
- can cause Sun Sensitivity
- Nausea, head aches, report severe diarrhea
- avoid taking alone with dairy products
- avoid caffeine - therapy can increase caf effects
- 2hr before or 6hrs after antacid
- w/ or w/out food

Azithromycin
A
- nausea, ab pain, diarrhea
- ER = take on empty stomach, can be taken with antacids
- Regular = w/ or w/out food, don’t take with antacids

Penicillin
A
- may decrease effectiveness of BC
- N/V/D
- Blood levels increase when taken w/out food, but can be taken with food

Cephalexin
A
- this may cause abdominal pain
- report severe diarrhea
- w/ or w/out food

Sulfamethoxazole/Trimethoprim (Bactrim, Septra)
A
- can cause Sun Sensitivity
- N/V/D - loss of appetite (should still eat)
- maintain adequate hydration - to avoid kidney stones
- w/ or w/out food?
