for an investigator to best equipped to provide a testomney he should really try and do 5 things
- guide investigation so that evidence relevant to the issues receive primary consideration.
- know whats going on in the court room
- recognize relvant and material evidence with an understanding of the general rules as they apply to hearsay confessions, polygraph results, and documents
- Under stand what the defense attorney and the prosecuting attorney are trying to active through a strategy
- testify only to the acts he acquired first hand. can’t provide an opinion unless he is an expert witness. he can pause before providing a seemly inadmissible answer which allows the opposing counsel the chance to object

when preparing for a trial what is it best to do ?
- the investigator should coordinate with the counsel who is calling him as a witness to prevent surprises and misunderstandings
- develop a good working relationship with the trial counsel so all understand the questions to be asked and the answers that will be provided.

exit with confidence like you entered do not look at any one. if permanently excused you can leave or watch if not must wait in waiting area and only dicuss the testimony with the TC
