What is a repeat victim?
An individual that had bee subjected to 3 similar occurances of ASB within the last 3 months and the ASB unit are required to risk assess the victim
What is a vulnerable victim?
An individual that has been subjected to an ASB risk assessment and had been recorded as medium or high risk and there is a vulnerable victim action plan in place.
What are the 3 vital questions when dealing with ASB?
Have you reported the problem before?
Why do you think this is happening?
How is this affecting you/Family or others?
What is a community trigger?
Gives the victim the ability to demand action multi agency problem solving approach
3 complaints within 6 months
Action plan agreed
What is a community remedy?
Actions agreed with chief Constable.
A list of agreed actions are presented to the victim for them to choose a remedy.
Gives victims of low level crime and ASB the ability to choose a punishment of the perpetrator out of court.
Ways of dealing with ASB?
Warning letter. Acceptable behaviour contract. Community protection Notice. Crime prevention injunction. Criminal behaviour order. Public spaces protection order.
What is the 5 stage approach when dealing with ASB?
1) Perpetrator written to and asked to stop
2) Continued bad behaviour will result in a further letter and visit from police.
3) Conference held by Police and multi agency team will lead to 4th stage
4) Acceptable Behaviour Contract issued
5) civil injunction/Criminal behaviour order.
