When did anti-semetic behaviour start to take place?
2000 years ago - Roman times. Due to the Christians believing that the Jews were rivals and did not share the same belifs. The Christian faith spread rapidly and many of them used Jews as a scapegoat making Jews face much persecution.
What is anti-semitism?
Anti-semitism is discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic or racial group.
Examples of Nazi anti-semetic behaviour
- Jews removed from media
- Jewish teachers forbidden to teach Non-Jewish children
- Many rights taken away : Professional jobs, access to education, freedom etc.
- Made to wear distinctive clothes and a star
- Red stamps put on passports
Which Anti- Semetic laws were introduced?
The Nuremburg Laws (1935) : ‘ The Reich Citizen Law ‘ - Only German/related blood eligible to German citizenship.
Law for protection of German honour - forbade marriages and sexual relations between Jews and Germans.
