What are the indications for Phenytoin/Dilantin?
- Focal seizures
- Status epilepticus
What is the loading dose for phenytoin/dilantin?
IV 15mg/kg
What are the major side effects of phenytoin/dilantin?
- QT prolongation
- Hypotension
What is the indication for valproate/depakote?
Generalized seizures
What are the major SE of valproate/depakote?
- Hepatotoxicity
- Sedation
What are the indications for Lorazepam/ativan?
- Anxiety
- Status epilepticus
What are the indications for Levetiracetam/Keppra?
Seizures
What are the SE of Levitiracetam/keppra?
- Somnolence
- Dizziness
What is the loading dose for valproate/depakote?
20-40m/kg IV
What is the loading dose for levetiricetam/keppra?
20mg/kg
What is the IV and IM dose forr lorazepam/ativan?
IV = 2-4mg every 5-10 min
IM = 4mg
What are the major SE of lorazepam/ativan?
- Respiratory depression
- Hypotension
- Poly ethylene glycol toxicity
What are the indications for diazepam/valium?
- Anxiety
- Seizures
What is the IV dosing for diazepam/valium?
0.15mg/kg every 5 minutes
