Q
What effect do antiarrhythmics have on QT time, and what potential negative effect does this have? (KNOW THIS!)
A
Antiarrhythmics (especially the Class III agents and Ia agents) can significantly prolong repolarization (QT) and therefore can result in Torsade de Pointes as a form of proarrhythmia.
