Features of anterior uveitis

A
  • acute onset
  • ocular discomfort and pain (increase with use)
  • pupil maybe small
  • photophobia (often intense)
  • blurred vision
  • red eye
  • lacrimation
  • ciliary flush
  • hypopyon
  • visual acuity is initially normal and then gets impaired

  • Atropine and cyclopentolate (cycloplegics- dilates pupil)
  • steroid eye drops
