B. Subdivisions of the anterior triangle:

*For more precise localization of structures, the anterior cervical region is subdivided into four smaller triangles:

A
  1. Muscular Δ - anterior aspect below the hyoid bone
    - contains the infrahyoid strap muscles
  2. Carotid Δ - between sup. omohyoid , post. digastric and SCM
    - contains brs. of external carotid a. and CN X, XI, XII
  3. Submandibular Δ - between mandible and digastric bellies
    - contains submandibular salivary gland, lingual and facial aa., CN XII
  4. Submental Δ - a midline structure below the chin
    - bounded by ant. digastric bellies and body of hyoid bone
