Origin of Pecitinius
Superior Ramus of Pubis
Innervation of Pectineus
Femoral Nerve (L2,L3); may receive branch of from obturator nerve
Action of Pectineus
Adducts and flexes hip joint; assists with medial rotation of hip joint

Femoral Nerve (L2,L3)
Action of Sartorius
Flexes, abducts, and laterally rotates hip joint; flexes knee joint
Origin of Psoas Major
1) Sides of T12-L5 vertebral bodies
2) Intervening Intervertebral Discs
3) Transverse Processes of Lumbar Vertebrae
Insertion of Psoas Major
Lesser Trochanter of Femur
Innervation of Psoas Major
Anterior Rami of Lumbar Nerves (L1,L2,L3)
Action of Iliopsoas
Acting Conjointly in flexing hip joint and in stabilizing this joint;
Psoas Major is also a postural that helps control deviation of the trunk and is active during standing
Origin of Iliacus
1) Iliac Crest and Iliac Fossa
2) Ala of Sacrum
3) Anterior Sacro-Iliac Ligaments
Insertion of Iliacus
Lesser Trochanter of Femur and area inferior to it
