action-flexion of arm in shoulder joint
biceps branchii(short)
origin- lateral aspect of tip of coracoid process along with coracobrachialis
insertion-
nerve-musculocutaneous(C5-C6)
action- supinator, flexion of elbow ,flexor of arm, tested against resistance and all screwing movements
Biceps branchii(long)
origin-supraglenoid tubercule of scapula and glenoid labrum
insertion-
nerve-musculocutaneous(C5-C6)
action- supinator, flexion of elbow ,flexor of arm, tested against resistance and all screwing movements and PREVENTS UPWARD DISP. OF HEAD OF HUMERUS
Brachialis
origin-lower half of front of humerus including the anteromedial and anterolateral
and, medial and lateral intermuscular septa
insertion- coronoid and ulnar tuberosity and
nerve- musculocutaneous(motor) and radial nerve(proprioceptive)
action- flexion of forearm in elbow joint
MUSCULOSUTANEOUS NERVE
Origin-lateral cord and lower axilla
