Superior attachment: xiphoid process and costal catlrtilages of ribs 5-7

Bilateral: flexion of lumbar and upper thoracic IVJ’s

Hypomere, as it is innervated by thoracic ventral rami

Superior attachment: external surfaces of ribs 8-12
