Define Consultation
The advice or opinion of a physician or another member of the health care team is sought while the midwife retains primary responsibility of the woman’s care.
Define Collaboration
The midwife and physician jointly manage the care of a woman or newborn who has become medically, gyn, or ob complicated. The goal is to share authority while providing quality care within each scope of practice

- Sustained release nitrofurantoin 100 mg bid (macrobid) not after 36 wks
