Q

What was something different about Tyler’s presidency

A

Tyler was the first Vice President to become President following the death of a sitting President.

By the end of his term, Tyler was unpopular. Democrats felt too similar to the Whigs, and Whigs felt him too close to the Democrats, especially after Tyler vetoed the Whig bank recharter.

John Tyler was later elected to the Confederate Congress, but died before taking office.
