Canada Goose

Look For: black head and neck, white chine, light brown body, chest is white and light brown
Canada Goose Non-Specimen
Look For: if you don’t know what a Canada goose is and you’re from Oklahoma then that’s on you boo ;)
Wood Duck

Wood Duck Specimen
Look For: tear drop shaped head, female head is grey male head is black (supposed to be green), white chin, white chest, neck is brown with white dots
Wood Duck Non-Specimen
Look For: green head with white lines, white wing stripe, wings are a iridescent blue, chest is brown speckled white, belly is white or grey, females have a tear drop white eye
Mallard

Mallard Specimen
Look For: head appears black, white ring around neck, yellow feet, brown neck into grey belly, yellow bill, female is light brown speckled with dark brown

Look For: once again if you don’t know what a mallard looks like I’m sorry for you
Ring-necked Duck

Ring-Necked Duck Specimen
Look For: ruddy red ring around neck, two white bands across bill, black back, white body, chest is black
Ring-Necked Duck Non-Specimen
Look For: two white bands around bill, black head and back, white chest and lateral, high peak behind head, not noticeable but red ring around neck
Green-Winged Teal

Green-Winged Teal Specimen
Look For: head appears black and ruddy, bill is black, back looks grey and black like static tv, wings are black to dark grey, belly is dirty white, chest is dirty white with black dots, chin is black, black stripe on wing
Green-Winged Teal Non-Specimen
Look For: smaller than a mallard, green eyeshadow that reaches the back of the neck, black and white line ended eye, rest of head is ruddy, most of body is grey and looks like an old static tv screen, white stripe on wing, white and black rump, black bill, obnoxiously green stripe on wing
Blue-Winged Teal

Blue-Winged Teal Specimen
Look For: body is brown with dark brown dots, male has a white stripe in front of eye female does not, small section of wing is powder blue and another is green, some white on wing too, black bill, yellow feet
Blue-Winged Teal Non-Specimen
Look For: black bill, pale powder blue top part of wing then white then a green, white stripe in front of eye, rest of the head is grey, body is a tan brown color with dark brown dots
Northern Shoveler

Northern Shoveler Specimen
Look For: black appearing head, some white and brown on back, presumably white chest, ruddy lateral, blue on wings like teal but if two different places, female is dirty white and brown and ruddy with a speckled chin, bill is long and skinny at the base and wide at the end
Northern Shoveler Non-Specimen
Look For: iridescent green head with some black, ruddy lateral, white neck and chest, some black on back, yellow eye, long bill, wings have some blue and green
Canvasback

Canvasback Specimen
Look For: ruddy red head, black neck and chest, white back with tv signal lines or canvas looking back, dark tail, forehead slopes into the beak
Canvasback Non-Specimen
Look For: brown is red head, black chest, black bill, red eye, stark white back, tail is black, head is sloped into beack
