Anotomy intro Flashcards
What is metabolism?
All chemical reactions involving in mentaining the living state of cells and organs
What is cell ?
It is a basic unit of life
The types of Metabolism
ANABOLISM - synthesis of all the compounds needed by the cell
CATABOLISM - Break down of compound to obtain energy
What is graphical representation of chromosomes ?
Karyotyping
Types of tissue?
Epithelial tissue
Connective tissue
Muscle tissue
Nervous tissue
What is epithelial tissue?
It lines the outer surface of organ and blood vessels as well as the inner surface of cavity of internal organs
What is connective tissue?
It is found between other tissues everywhere in the body
( Blood, bone , adipose /fat tissue)
What are muscle tissue? And types
It is mainly found in legs and arms.
2 types of muscle tissue -
Voluntary & Involuntarily
Explain types of muscle?
VOLUNTARY MUSCLE - where voluntary movement takes place (it’s is under our control)
INVOLUNTARY MUSCLE - found in internal organs ( not under our control) heart, intestine
Where do We find nervous tissue ?
Brain, spinal cord
Internal organs are collectively called _______
Viscera
Types of body cavity?
Cranial cavity
Spinal cavity
Thoracic cavity
Abdominal cavity
Pelvic cavity
Parts of Cranial cavity
Brain , Pituitary gland, Pineal gland
Part of spinal cavity
Spinal cord
Part of Thoracic cavity
Lungs, heart, thymus gland, Trachea, Oesophagus
