What are the types of anonymity?
Actively made orders, are imposed in court by a judge or magistrate such as Section 45 of the YJCEA (Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999).
Automatic orders, come into force as soon as something happens such as for victims of sexual offences.
What are the frequent five?
No identifying detail should be published including:
- Name
- Address
- School/Educational establishment
- Workplace
- Any still or moving image
What is section 11 of the Contempt Of Court act?
If granted, gives lifelong anonymity by banning publication a name, or any other identifying information connection with proceedings such as blackmail.
What does section 49 of the CYPA 1933 grant juveniles?
Automatic anonymity until the age of 18 is given to any juvenile in youth court as a defendant, witness or victim.
What circumstances is anonymity applied in a court?
A) section 49 CYPA, automatic anonymity in youth court until aged 18.
B) Anonymity can be imposed on a juvenile involved in proceedings until the age of 18.
