Describe the symptoms of Morton’s neuroma

A

Shooting stabbing or burning pain

Feeling like there’s a stone under your foot

How is Morton’s neuroma managed?

A

Usually conservatively first; ice, elevation, ibuprofen/paracetamol, insoles, weight loss if overweight

Painkiller injections, radiofrequency ablation, foot surgery

A

A

Pain worse when you start walking after sleeping/resting

Pain feels better during exercise but worse after resting

A

Achilles tendon rupture symptoms

  • altered angle of declination; afected foot more dorsiflexed when prone
  • palpable gap
  • lack of plantarflexion on calf squeeze test

A

Non-surgical

  • wearing a brace
  • crutches to rest injured foot
  • casting with foot plantarflexed

A

A fracture that has developed gradually as a result of repeated use of the foot in the same way
