To finish the exam i would like to - examine the joint above and below and perform a neurovascular exam if i havent already. I would also like to look for the associations

By the bed - History and obs and functional status

FBC, U/E, HLA b27 status

ESR/CRP for inflammation

RF to rule out RA

Other - X ray of spine and neck and pelvis

Vertebral body fusion

Syndesmophytes

Reactive sclerosis (shiny corner sign)

Hips:

SI joint fusion

Answer 4

Conservative - Explain what it is and that phsysio and mobility are key.

MDT - OT, physio, GP rhumatologist plus other doctors if complications arise

Medical - Analgesia - NSAIDS and PPI
