Explain what the term kosher means

A

Kosher is Jewish food laws and their way of life.
Animals should be killed in a ritualistic manner.
Part of God’s 2nd Covenant with the Isralites
(God led Moses and Co out of Egypt so Moses was like “ hey maybe God knows what it’s doing we should follow more of its commands ie eating kosher foods”)

A

It’s the right thing to do as living things should not be killed (according to anchoranga sutra) but since Buddhists are sweg if someone says have some meat they will not refuse.

“Meat cannot be obtained without harming living things” which is against their religion therefore veggies are OK. Some do eat meat but never a cow. Cows=sacred.
