Q

What can be said about the novella being written in 3rd person perspective

A

This distances the reader from the event which are taking place. It also highlights the hypocrisy of the pigs, as we can draw our own conclusions, we are not told the story from anyone’s perspective.

Q

What does the quote “it was noticed that the milk had disappeared” tell us

A

Passive voice used shows us that the animals notice its absence, but fail to draw conclusions as to the milks whereabouts. It draws our attention to the manipulation of the animals by the pigs, for their own gain.
