animal cells Flashcards
cell wall
maintains the cells shape and prevents damage,
made of cellulose,
chloroplasts
contains chlorophyll which absorbs light energy for photosynthesis,
converts sun rays into energy for the cell,
Large vacuole
storage bubbles, much larger in plant cells,
stores food, water and nutrience a cell might need to survive. (they can also store waste products),
when vacuole are low on water plant cells droop,
Plants and animals have these cells:
nucleus, cytoplasm, cell membrane and mitochondria,
Plants ONLY have these cells:
cell wall, large vacuole and chloroplasts,
fungi cells:
it is made of different chemicals to a plant cell wall,
Have the same organelles as animal cells but they also have a cell wall,
no fungi produces chemicals that digest the material they are growing on, they absorb it then digested material in their cells,
