How the Romans control their empire?
- ROADS: Romans divided their empire into provinces and were ran by governors
- ARMY: the army were very powerful and had excellent discipline and training. Army was divided into legions: back up army and allxilia
What a Roman soldier wore?
- helmet
- woollen tunic
- body armour
- belt showing position in army
- shield showing Legion
- javelin, dagger, a short sword

What life was like living in the Roman Empire
Patricians lived in villas. A Roman villa consists of an ATRIUM (open sky hall), walled garden, slaves quarters, rain water tank and front rooms. Mosaics are pictures and design made by glass or tile.
Thermopolia is where plebeians ate.
Oratory was the art of public speaking.
Patricians ate bread, olives, cheese, raisins, salad, fruit, nuts, wine and water, oysters, mussels, meat and vegetables.
Romans ate porridge, bread, beans, lentils and little meat. Poor depended on bread hand outs called dole
