Angles, Parallel Lines, and Transversals Flashcards
What are Parallel Lines?
Lines that do not intersect.
What is a Transversal?
A line that intersect two or more times. (A line that goes across two lines)
Parallel Lines are…
Lines that do not intersect.
Transversal Lines are…
A line that goes through other lines, two or more times.
A Complementary Angle is…
Two angles that together equal 90*
A Supplementary Angle is…
Two angles that together euqla 180*
Interior Angles are…
Angles that are INSIDE the parallel lines
Exterior Angles are…
Angles that are OUTSIDE the parallel lines.
Alternate Angles are…
Angles on opposite sides of the transversal that have the same measurement. (Tracing a Z on the lines helps identify them)
Corresponding angles are…
Two angles on the same side of the transversal, on different parallel lines.
Vertical angles are…
Two angles that share a vertex, and have the same value.
Consecutive interior angles are…
Angles that do not share the same parallel lines but are on the same area the transversal creates when it intersects.
