angle vocabulary Flashcards
lines that will never cross and are the same distance apart and may go on forever ( lines will not cross if they go on and on)
parallel
part of a circle that represents an angle between two intersecting lines
arc
- When lines intersect they form angles and angles are the spaces or shapes that are formed between the intersecting lines- they meet at a vertex. Name angles by names of points
angles
lines that form square corners when they intersect, they form right angles
perpendicular
lines that form it are perpendicular and the angles measure 90 degrees
right angles
when lines cross they cross at a point called the intersection
intersection
angles that are less than a right angle; less than 90 degrees
acute angles
angles greater than a right angle; greater than 90 degrees
obtuse angles
a straight line- two rays pointing in the opposite directions and it equals 180 degrees
straight angles
two angles that form a right angle are called complementary angles =90 degrees
complementary angles
two angles that form a right angle are called complementary angles =90 degrees
complementary angles
two angles combine to form a straight angle = 180 degrees
Supplementary angles
two angles combine to form a straight angle = 180 degrees
Supplementary angles
the point where two rays meet
Vertex
the point where two rays meet
Vertex
