Angle flashcards
parallel
lines that will never cross and are the same distance apart and may go on forever.
arc
part of a circle that repeats an angle between two intersecting lines.
angles
When lines intersect they form angles and are the spaces or shapes that are formed between the intersecting lines - they meet at a vertex. Named angles by names of points.
Perpendicular
lines that form square corners when they intersect they form right angles.
right angles
lines that form it are perpendicular and the measures of 90.
intersection
when lines cross they cross at a point called an intersection.
acute angles
Angles are less than a right angle; greater than 90.
obtuse angles
Angles that are greater than a right angle; greater than 90.
straight angles
straight line - two rays pointing in opposite directions.
complementary angles
two angles that form a right angle are called complementary angles (90).
Supplementary angles
two angles combined to form a straight angle (180).
vertex
the point where two rays meet.
congruent
having the same measure
degrees
a measurement used to measure angles (small amount)
protractor
measures angles
