Angle Flashcards
Parallel
lines that will never cross and are the same distance apart and may go on forever (will not cross if the go on and on)
Arc
Part of a circle that represents an angle between two intersecting lines
Angles
When lines intersect they form angles and angles are the spaces or shapes that are formed between the intersecting lines- They meet at a name angle by names of points < = angle symbol
Perpendicular
lines that form squares corners when they intersect they form right angles
Right angles
lines that form it are perpendicular and the angle measures 90 degrees
intersection
when lines cross they cross at a point
acute angles
Angles that are less than a right angle; less than 90 degrees
Obtuse angles
Angles greater than a right angle; greater than 90 degrees
Straight Angle
Straight line- two rays pointing in oppisite directions
Complementary Angles
two angles that form a right angle (90 degrees)
Supplementary Angles
Two angles combined to form a straight angle (180 degrees)
Vertex
The point where two rays meet
Congruent
Having the same measure
Degrees
A meauserment used to measure angles (small amount)
Protractor
A tool that meausures angles
