What is the pathogenesis of angioedema with urticaria? Angioedema without urticaria?

A
  • same as urticaria with excess histamine release

- for cases lacking angioedema and ACEI induced angioedema it is due to excess Bradykinin

  • C1 esterase inhibitor levels
  • decreased C4 levels
  • decreased C1q levels only in acquired angioedema!!!
