A medical condition where there is a less than normal amount of hemoglobin in the blood

What happens when there is less hemoglobin?
A
Less hemoglobin, less O^2 being delivered throughout the body

What can anemia be caused by?
A
A genetic disorder (e.g. sickle cell anemia or thalassemia) or by a great loss of blood.
