A

Depends on age of onset

In utero:

  • Partial virilisation
  • Ambiguous genitals
  • Complete deficiency/insenstivity –> female genitalia

Puberty:

  • Micropenis
  • Crypto-orchidism
  • Incomplete pubertal maturation
  • Eunuchoidal body habitus

Adults:

  • Crypto-orchidism
  • OP
  • DM
  • Anaemia

Causes of primary androgen insufficiency

A
  • Acquired = testicular damage
  • Congenital = genetic
  • -> klinefelters
  • -> androgen insensitivty
  • -> CAH
  • -> myotnic dystrophy

A

Pituitary/hypothalamic:

  • Tumours
  • Infiltration
  • Trauma

Genetic: Kalimanns

Morbid obesity
Cushings syndrome

Transient:

  • Acute illness
  • Chronic disease
  • Drugs
