Time of palaeolithic period?
2,500,000 BC - 8000 BC
What happened in the palaeolithic period ?
Nothing happened because Ireland was covered in ice so nothing lived either
Time of the Mesolithic period?
8000 BC - 3500 BC
How was Ireland ?
Covered in dense forest
Form of traveling?
Carved out tree trunks as “boats”
Evidence of settlement ?
Mount sandal Co. Derry ( found nuts and bones etc )
What type of people were the Mesolithic ones ?
Hunter - gatherers ( hunted animals gathered nuts and berries)
What were micro-liths?
Pieces of flint used to make spears
What were the houses like in the M period?
They were huts a bit like American tee-pee’s ( they cooked INSIDE the house )
Times of the Neolithic period?
3500 BC- 2000 BC
