Greece is made up of a peninsula and several dozen islands. The land has a lot of mountains which makes it difficult to travel by land. As a result, Greeks often travelled and traded by sea

No, because women did not have the same rights as men. For example they could not Serve in the government or Leave their homes except for special occasions. They also could not buy things, own property, They had to obey their fathers and husbands

What was the role of citizens in Athens? In Sparta? What was their daily life like? How was living in these two city-states different?

A

In Athens you would learn more about education and school but in Sparta you would learn how to become a soldier. When you were 7 in Sparta you thought about pain and war. In Sparta women had rights such as owning land and even going to some schooling. In Athens only men got to go to school.

Why did Sparta gain respect in their battle against the Persians, despite losing all 300 soldiers? How does this reflect what life in Sparta was like?

A

The Bravery of the Spartans encouraged other Greek city states to fight the Persians and eventually Greece Kicked them out. It reflects that they are brave and fearless.

Why is Alexander the Great considered to be such an important ruler? What lands did he conquer? How did he die?

A

He took over Anatolia, Syria, Phoenicia, Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greater Iran, Afghanistan, and India. He arrived in Babylon, his new capital, in 323 BC, and died that summer from a fever. He was considered too great because of how much land he took over and how brave he was.
