Holds the rest of the body’s organs. (not the brain and spinal cord)

Part of the dorsal cavity that holds the spine
Cranial Cavity
Part of the dorsal cavity that houses the brain
Thoracic Cavity
Part of the ventral cavity that holds heart and lungs.
Pleural Cavity
Part of the thoracic cavity that holds each lung, one right and one left cavity
Mediastinum
Compartment in between the lungs and heard, held in the thoracic cavity
Pericardial Cavity
Part of the thoracic cavity that holds the heart.
Abdominopelvic Cavity
Part of the ventral cavity that houses digestive and reproductive organs
Abdominal Cavity
Part of the abdominopelvic cavity that holds the stomach, liver, and intestines
Pelvic Cavity
Part of the abdominopelvic cavity that holds the bladder and reproductive organs
Visceral Membrane
lies on top of the organs making direct contact with them
Visceral Pericardium
Outer most layer of the heart.
Visceral Pleura
Outer most layer of the lungs.
Parietal Pericardium
Outer layer attached to fibrous pericardium
