Anatomy Review Flashcards
Trapezius (UFT)
Runs from back of skull–> lateral superior 1/3 clavicle (stops at AC joint)
Actions: elevate SG
Trapezius (MFT)
Runs from spine–> acromion and superior spine of scapula
Actions: retraction of SG
Trapezius (LFT)
Runs from spine–> medial spine of scapula
Actions: superior rotation of scapula. If arm is up: depress SG and posterior tilt scapula
Rhomboids minor
runs from spine–> medial boarder of scapula (root of spine of scapula)
Actions: retraction, inferior rotation of scapula
Rhomboids major
runs from spine–> medial boarder of scapula (distal to spine of scapula)
Actions: retraction, inferior rotation of scapula
Serratus anterior
runs from ribs–> medial boarder of scapula –> sandwiched b/w ribs and scapula
Actions: protraction (upper serratus); superior rotation of scapula (lower serratus)
Pectoralis minor
runs from ribs–> coracoid process (medial)
Actions: depression, protraction, anterior tilt of scapula
Pectoralis Major
Runs from medial 1/2 of inferior clavicle to the SC joint and sternum –> humerus
Actions: flexion of GH (saggital and horizontal), medial rotation of GH, adduction
Latissamus dorsi
Runs all along vertebral column and ribs–> humerus
Actions: Extension of GH, medial rotation of GH, adduction
Long head of Biceps Brachii
Attatches to scapula (supraglenoid fossa)
Short head of biceps brachii
close to subscapularis. Attatches to coracoid process
Anterior deltoids
(clavicular)
lateral 1/3 clavicle stops at AC joint
Actions: abduction, flexion of GH (saggital and horizontal), medial rotation
Middle deltoids
(acormial)
lateral aspect of the acromion process
Actions: abduction
Posterior deltoids
(spinal)
spine of the scapula
Actions: abduction, extension of GH, external rotation
Subscapularis
runs from anterior scapula- corss front of Gh joint–> lesser tuberosity
Actions: medial rotation
