State the name of the 1-4 cranial nerves, and briefly describe their main function
I- Olfactory Nerve: The sense of smell
II- Optic Nerve: The sense of sight
III- Oculomotor Nerve: Eye movement (parasympathetic)
IV- Trochlear Nerve: Eye Movement
State the name of the 5-8 cranial nerves, and briefly describe their main function.
V- Trigeminal Nerve: Head and cavities (sensory), muscle mastications (Motor)
VI- Abducent Nerve: Eye movements
VII- Facial and Nervus Intermerdius Nerve: (Motor) Muscles facial expression
VIII- Vestibulocochlear Nerve: Hearing and Balance
State the name of the 9-12 cranial nerves, and briefly describe their main function.
IX- Glossopharyngeal Nerve: Sensation in posterior 1/3 of the tongue, and oropharynx
X- Vagus Nerve: parasympathetic innervation of heart, lungs, gastrointestinal tract
XI- Accessory Nerve: sternocleidomastoid and trapezius (motor)
XII- Hypoglossal Nerve: tongue (motor)
Name the three divisions of the trigeminal nerve. And state the type of information they transmit.
1) Ophthalmic Nerve - Sensory
2) Maxillary Nerve - Sensory
