Anatomy Flashcards
Name the 6 dorsal tunnels and the tendons.
1 - AbPL, EPL 2 - ECRL and ECRB 3 - EPL 4 - EDC, Ext indicis 5 - extensor digiti minimi 6 - ECU
What passes through the carpal tunnel?
FDS, FDP, FPL and median nerve
What goes through Guyon’s canal?
Ulnar artery and nerve. The FCU is just outside
Digital nerves and arteries
Nerve is more superficial so if the artery is lacerated so is the nerve.
Flexor sheath of a finger
A1, A3, A5 are at the joints proximal to distal. A2 and A4 are considered the most crucial
Zones of flexor and extensor tendon injuries
Flexor - 5 zones
Extensor - 8 zones
Zones go from distal (1) to proximal.
What is the space of Poirier?
The triangular shaped Fe T the base of the V formed by the ulnocapitate and radio amputate ligaments on the palmar aspect. The area is weak leading to perilunate dislocations
Normal ROM of the wrist
Flex - 80, 60% from mid carpal Ext - 70, 66% from radio carpal RD - 20 UD - 30 60% from mid carpal (radial/ulnar deviation arc) Pro & Sup - 80, 160 total motion
