What is Syme, Chopart, and Lisfranc Amputations?
A
Syme: Ankle disarticulation. Remove malleoli in single stage or delayed and approximate heel fat pad to bottom
Chopart: Amp through talocaneonavicular joint and calcaneocuboid joint, Achilles tendonectomy. Attach EHL/TA to talar neck, EDL to calcaneus
Lisfranc: Disarticular 1/3/4/5 tarsometatarsal joints, the 2nd metatarsal is divided 1-2 cm distal to medialcuneiform. Achilles tendon is released.
