What is the appendix?
The appendix is a blind-ended tube connected to the caecum, from which it develops embryologically.
What is the caecum
The caecum is a pouchlike structure of the colon, located at the junction of the small and large intestines

1/3 distance from ASIS to umbilicus

L1 - mid way between jugular notch and upper border of pubic symphysis
What are the boundaries of the epiploic foramen?
Anterior: Free edge lesser omentum (contains hepatic artery - compression = pringles manouvre)
Posterior: IVC
Superior: Caudate lobe
Inferior: D1
Gallbladder function?
Store bile
Calots triangle boundaries?
Anterior: Inferior border liver
Lateral: CBD
Medial: Cystic Duct
Contains cystic artery (sometimes anterior border)
