Uterus
A hollow, pear shaped organ that is responsible for a variety of functions, such as gestation, menstruation and labor and delivery.
Fallopian Tube
Pair of tubes (or a tube) along which eggs travel from the ovaries to the uterus.
Cervix
A small canal that connects your uterus and vagina.
Allows fluids to leave and enter your uterus.
Dying childbirth, your cervix widens so that a baby can be born.
Ovum
Egg cell
A female reproductive cell or gamete.
Ovary
Small, oval-shaped glands located on either side of the uterus.
Produce and store eggs (ovum) and make hormones that control your menstrual cycle and pregnancy.
During ovulation, one of your ovaries releases an egg.
Vagina
Provides a passageway for blood and mucosal tissue from the uterus during a woman’s monthly period.
Holds the sperm until they pass into the uterus and provides a passageway for childbirth.
Breast
Contains glandular tissue that produces milk after delivery of an infant.
Surrounding dark pigmented area is called areola and the nipple is the mammary papilla.
Numerous lymph nodes around the breast and in the underarm (axilla).
