anatomy Flashcards
what does the prostate secrete
zinc, calcium, alkaline fluid
what artery off the coeliac trunk supplies stomach
left gastric
what rib is usually the first one seen below the clavicle on an xray
3rd
posterior horn?
sensory
course of femoral nerve
Femoral nerve is in a bundle with femoral artery and vein just under the inguinal ligament.
obturator course
Obturator lies medial to the psaos major and exits the pelvis through the obutator foramen (filled with obturator membrane)
pudendal course
Pudendal nerve passes out posteriorly via the greater sciatic foramen (superior) and then loops round the sacrospinous ligament (near the ischial spine) to enter the pelvis using the lesser sciatic foramen.
where does sciatic leave pelvis
greater sciatic foramen
where do the vertebral arteries come from in the circle of wilis
subclavian artery
where does the anterior supply of circle of wilis come from
internal carotids
pre-central gyrus
motor
post-central gyrus
sensory
layers of dura
dura mater outside then arachnoid then pia
what layer does anaesthesia go in a pregnant women
epidural
where is the third neurone of the dorsal column run?
runs from thalamus to primary somatosensory cortex
where does the 1st neurone of the dorsal column run?
runs ipsilateral to the level of medulla
where does the 2nd neurone of dorsal column run?
from medulla and crosses to contralateral thalamus
how many neurone involved in a deep tendon reflex?
2 (sensory axon and LMN)
where does thoracic duct lie
between azygous vein and thoracic aorta
what level does the trachea bifurcate
T6
what nerve does the left recurrent laryngeal branch form and describe its course
Branches from vagus (CNX) and hooks under the arch of aorta
right recurrent laryngeal course
Right recurrent laryngeal hooks under the subclavian artery
Where does the internal thoracic vein drain blood from and where does it drain in to?
Drains from anterior thoracic wall and drains into brachiocephalic vein
What supplies the serratous anterior and what happens if this nerve is damaged
Supplied by long thoracic nerve and damage will cause winged scapula
