Anatomy Flashcards
What is epidural space ?
Space that situated between the wall of vertebral canal and spinal dura mater .
It also contain fats.
What is spinal cord enveloped of
S.C is enveloped by meninges
Whatis subarachnoid space ?
Space that is surrounding the spinal cord .
Contaon CSF
Dorsal Spinal Root + Ventral spinal roots =?
Spinal nerves
What is intervertebral foramen ?
Foramen that located between spinal vertebrae
What is transverse foramen ?
An opening, but occupied by vertebral artery and vein
What is intervertebral disc ?
Lies between the adjacent vertebrae in the vertebral column.
Each disc form is fibrocartilagous joint.
To allow slight movement of the vertebrae , act as ligament to hold the vertebrae together, shock absorber for spine.
What is ventral root ?
Receive information from brain motor cortex .
Send skeletal muscle ->trigger voluntary movement.
What is dorsal horn ?
To take e3nsory information then send it to brains sensory cortex
What is lateral horn ?
Help to regulate processes like urination , digestion , heart rate .
What is spinal nerve ?
Nerve that leaving the spinal cord.
Funct Ventral root ?
Carries motor fibre.
Funct ventral ramus ?
Innervate limbs and anterior torso
Funct of dorsal ramus ?
Innervate the back
Funct dorsal root ?
Recieve sensory fibres
Funct dorsal root ganglion ?
It send fiber towards spinal cord and toward periphery
Functional components of nerves ?
- General Somatic Afferent (GSA)
- General Somatic Efferent (GSE)
- General Visceral Afferent (GVA)
- General Visceral Efferent (GVE)
Three additional for special sense & pharyngeal arc muscles ?
- Special Somatic afferent for vision and hearing
- Special visceral afferent for taste and olfaction
- Special visceral efferent for supplying muscles wh8ch develop from the pharyngeal arches.
What is reflex ?
Fast, automatic response to specific stimulus .
What is 5 components of reflex arc ?
- Sensory receptor
- Sensory neuron
- Integration center
- Motor neuron
- Effector target
Why monosynaptic reflex is the simplest reflex ?
Becuz its only involve 1 sensory and 1 motor neuron.
Thus the reflex action takes place without the involvement of brain.
What monosynaptic reflex includes ?
Patellar reflex
Achilles reflex
Nerves to extrinxic muscles of the thoracic limb ?
- Pectoral NN
- Thoracodorsal N.
- Long Thoracic N.
Nerved that innervate intrinsic muscles of the scapular region ?
- Suprascapular N.
* Subscapular N.
What muscle is for pectoral N.
To Cleidobranchialis
What muscles is for Thoracodorsal N.
To Lattisimus dorsi
What muscle is for Long Thoracic N.?
To thoracic part of serratus ventralis & to cutaneus trunci
Where does the Suprascapular N innervate ?
To supraspinatus & infraspinatus
Where subscapular N. innervate ?
To subscapularis
