Anatomy 1 Flashcards
Depression on femoral head and associated ligament
fovea
Ligamentum teres
Acetabulum parts and associated ligament
acetabular margin –> outside of: acetabular labrum
acetabular notch - transverse acetabular ligament
Acetabular fossa
Glenoid labrum
External fibrous layer of hip jt - name and attachment points
Fibrous capsule
- Peripheral to acetabular margin & transverse acetabular ligament
- Distally: femoral neck
- Ant: intertorchanteric line & root of the greater trochanter
- Posterior: intertrochanteric line of femur
Internal fibrous layer of hip jt
Synovial membrane
- Covers fibrous capsule, articular cartilage and nonarticular area of the acetabulum
Thicking of external fibrous layer of hip jt in some places –> 3 intrinsic lig:
- Iliofemoral
- Pubofemoral
- Ischiofemoral
Iliofemoral ligament
AIIS & acetabular rim –> intertrochanteric line
Brings femoral head tightly into the acetabulum when standing upright
Prevents hyperextension
Pubofemoral
Obturator crest of pubic bone –> blends with iliofemoral lig
Tightens during extension & abduction
Prevents overabduction
Ischofemoral
Acetabular margin –> neck of femur
Limits IR of hip
What passes through the longitudinal synovial folds on synovial membrane covering the neck of femur?
Subsynovial retinacular arteries (from medial and lateral circumflex femoral)
What artery lies inside of ligamentum teres?
Artery to head of the femur (from obturator artery)
Hip flexors
Iliopsoas
Sartorius
Rectus femoris
Pectinus
Hip extensors
Gluteus max
Hamstrings
Abduction
Gluteus minimus and medius
Tensor fascia lata
Sartorius
Adduction
Adductor brevis Adductor longus Adductor magnus Pectineus Gracilis
Medial Rotation
Gluteus minimus and medius
Tensor fascia lata
