  4. Right Lumbar Region
  5. Umbilical Region
  6. Left Lumber Region
  7. Right Inguinal Region
  8. Hypogastric Region
  9. Left Inguinal Region
39
Q

Planes of the Body

A
  1. Midsagittal - down the middle left/right sections
  2. Parasagittal - down the middle left/right but off centered
  3. Frontal - down the middle anterior/posterior sections
  4. Oblique - across from lower to upper or upper to lower
  5. Transverse - across the middle upper/lower sections
40
Q

Body Systems

A

11 total:

  1. Integumentary System
  2. Skeletal System
  3. Muscular system
  4. Nervous system
  5. Endocrine system
  6. Cardiovascular system
  7. Lymphatic system
  8. Respiratory system
  9. Digestive system
  10. Urinary system
  11. Reproductive system
41
Q

Main Tissues of the Body

A

4 types:

  1. Epithelial Tissue
  2. Connective tissue
  3. Nervous tissue
  4. Muscle tissue
42
Q

Epidermis layers (outermost layer)

A

From superficial to deep.
Come Let’s Get Sun Burn
1. Stratum Corneum- outermost layer composed of dead, keratinized cells that are constantly shed.
2. Stratum Lucidum - thin, translucent layer found primarily in thick skin on the palms and soles.
3. Stratum Granulosum - Cells in this layer develop granules that contribute to keratin production.
4. Stratum Spinosum - contains cells with “prickle” projections that connect to neighboring cells.
5. Stratum Basale - deepest layer where new cells are produced through mitosis.

43
Q

Dermis

A

Middle skin layer that contains blood vessels. The dermis does not contain any epithelial layers; it is primarily composed of connective tissue, so it only has the papillary and reticular layers, which are both considered connective tissue layers, not epithelial layers

44
Q

Hypodermis (subcutaneous layer)

A

Primarily comprised of loose connective tissue and adipose tissue and blood vessels.
