What are the major parts of the book?
It starts with understanding the influencing environment, understanding one’s skills and attributes, one’s influencing style. It then turns its attention to applying those skills; for that purpose awareness of others is key. Finally, the book proposes techniques to influence, and decision criterion to put the influencing strategy into practice.
What is the problem the authors are trying to solve?
Being able to influence at a personnel level is crucial to achieving results through others. The authors are trying to provide the reader with a method and a toolkit to improve his influence on individuals he interacts with in a business setting.
