Give the context of the poem “London”

The poem “London” by William Blake was written in the 1790s. It is a description of the city at a time of industrial revolution when there was rapid growth in the city. There was new regulation introduced separating the city in a series of charters which contributed a claustrophobic and anonymous quality to London. At the time, the rich were getting richer and the poor were getting poorer, Blake aimed to comment on this.
